Is it just me, or does this techno DJ bear more than a passing resemblance to Mike Teavee from the recent re-make of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

Do we have definitive proof that they ARE two different people?
They just may be the same person. Tim Burton has some pretty deep pockets, so if anyone could afford a time machine, and only make and use said time machine to find someone's past child self to use as a supporting actor for one of his movies, it would be Tim Burton. I also expect that the freaky dude with the hair who occasionally rummages through your trash is also Tim Burton.
